Oh Craigslist, I love you. In spirit of the upcoming thanksgiving I found a car that was completely stuffed. NPoCP?
For only 6500 dollars you could own a wonderful Porsche 914 with a GM 350ci V8 shoved where the normal 4cyl would go. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

Really digging those wheels on there. Seen em on other cars but never a 914.

Holy crap! If it's a completed and working project, that might not be a bad deal. Relatively good condition stock ones seem to run for this or more these days, so unless that extra weight ruined the car's dynamics, this could be interesting.

given the engine location I doubt the weight change would feel drastic

I think it's cool but CL is the land of "I spent $xx,xxx on this, so it's clearly worth $yy,yyy of someone else's money." Hold on, though... x=your love for the car, which is usually not equal to y, the accepted or widely perceived value of it (see Marx, et al)
Keep smoking that sweet, sweet crack. Good luck with that price. "Only $6,500"? I don't even want to haggle with someone like this.
Maybe I'm the crack smoker.

Maybe not, but it's not unreasonable to assume that it would be noticeable considering how lightweight the 914 is and the extra weight (and higher weight due to engine config) that this engine would bring. The VW air cooled engine weighs about 200 lbs complete and is a flat configuration. The Chevy 350 is closer to 450 lbs and way taller. That's a very noticeable difference when the car only weights about 2000 to begin with.

I see cooling as an issue.

Most of that v8's weight is down low. This particular one probably has iron heads which wouldnt help that weight distribution. point is though the bulk of the weight is kept low in the block, and in the main rotating assembly. And again that engine is dead center. To me whether or not the suspension can cope with the increase in speed and power, to maximize the potential of what has been done.

This looks clean, complete (minus the bumpers), and well done. Heck, even the interior looks good (not f'ed up). I'm saying NP on this. I'll forgive the no bumper thing as it literally looks like the only thing left to be done and maybe the seller couldn't decided on what to go with to finish it.

Crack pipe! Regardless of the price, I'd steer clear of any car that hacks up structural parts of the body. 914 V8 conversions tend to turn what was a good handling sports car into a wobbly dragster.
Save the 914s!

Ah, good point!
